Shapadu Trans-System Sdn Bhd (STS) was incorporated on January 9, 1981 under the name of Shapadu PTC (M) Sdn Bhd reflecting its joint venture status with PTC Ltd, Singapore. On March 1985, the Group assumed total ownership of the venture company, taking the name of Berkat Express and on 12th May 1988, the company was renamed as Shapadu Trans-System Sdn Bhd (STS). Since then, STS has developed progressively with the nation’s rapid growth into one of the key players in the transport industry particularly in Heavy/Project cargo as well as International Freight Forwarding.
Today, STS continues to be the forefront of the haulage industry while diversifying into support services and other businesses such as warehousing, open and covered storage yard operations, land, air and sea freight forwarding (custom clearance), barging, heavy machinery and equipment handling (lifting, jacking, skidding, positioning and leveling), logistic support as well as Computerized Aided Planning (CAP) and Designing (CAD). STS also provides services for Malaysian Pilgrims in personal belonging clearance.
Shapadu’s role in the transportation business has gained international recognition with the prestigious 2nd International Transport Award on March 1999 in Madrid, Spain. STS was also awarded by the Trade Leaders’ Club in recognition for STS’s distinguished services in goods or passenger transport and for its significant contribution to the development of international commerce in an increasingly global economy.

1. Airfreight
STS currently operates air freight operations in the country for Airfreight Console and Air Charter at:
• Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Kuala Lumpur
• Senai Airport, Johor
• Bayan Lepas Airport, Penang
• SAS Airport, Kuantan
These four offices cover four main geographic regions of the Peninsular, making it within easy reach of client operating locations while the Kuching office covers the East Malaysia region.
2. Seafreight
Over the years, STS has established six local branch offices to support their ever expanding business operations. Services include Liner Freighting and Ship Chartering with offices conveniently located at:

• Kuching Port, Sarawak

3. Forwarding & Clearance
STS has more than 16 years experience in handling cargoes and commodities of various types and quantities in various modes of conveyances and operations and this has enabled STS to be very well-versed in custom and port procedures. STS has also established extensive contacts with the authorities involved making for expeditious clearance to the benefit of its clients. Among its services are the handling of custom duties, exemptions & drawbacks, cargo documentation, cargo clearance and delivery and collections.
4. Warehousing
To support the high demand of shipping and transportation services, STS provides a total of 50,000 square feet warehousing space of which 20,000 square feet is for bonded cargo. In addition, 10 acres of open yard space is available for transit or storage at Port Klang. Related services covers general cargo, bonded cargo, yard storage, packaging, container loading and unloading, consolidation, inventory management, warehouse management.
5. Project Planning
As a proactive project freight forwarder, STS offers its assistance in the early stages of project planning. It facilitates project owners in drawing up project logistic requirements and scope of works involved in the preparation of tender documents for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract bidding exercises. These are a few complimentary services provided by STS for cargo logistic projects which include site surveys, routings, mobilization, estimation and tax exemptions.
6. Inland Transport/Sea Transport
STS practically moves or transports any type of general cargo. With a fleet of trucks and trailers at their disposal, no cargo is too small and too big for the company. STS is the pioneer in this field and owns and operates 40 axle-lines of COMETTO multi-axle hydraulic modular trailers. Complemented by the latest addition of SCANIA’s 144G model prime mover plus two units of 142E and another unit of 143E, STS has the ability of transporting super heavy cargo of any dimension or weight. Our long serving team of experienced drivers, technical personnel, operators and riggers are well prepared for such challenges.
